Sports Mental Health

Our Sports Mental Health Program

Are you mentally ready to perform?

Much of being an athlete is your mentality. It is the mindset you carry as you experience the ups and downs, wins and losses, and transitions from one level to the next in your athletic career.

A healthy mindset is the difference maker between a good performance and a great one and the path to overcoming distractions and adversity. As you train your body for the game, make sure you also train your mind.

The partnership, founded on the principles of integrity and mastering mental health, will guide athletes through programs and offer services that focus on athletes' commitment, character, and accountability while equipping them with the tools needed to govern and prioritize their mental health.

The Mental Benefits of Basketball Practice

Playing sports is great for both your body and mind. The mental work - strategy, learning plays, and communication - required to play basketball often stretch the mind and force players to focus at a deep level.

The partnership between A1 and TSA now opens mental health services and programming to athletes' slate of training, a much-needed resource in today's world of social media and digital whirlwinds that capture our youth's attention and increase stress.

Rooted in holistic approaches to helping others, the A1+TSA partnership will identify where an athlete stands and build custom programs and services in the following areas: motivation, goal setting, concentration and focus, anxiety and fear, self-confidence, relaxation, and mental health.

Athletes can expect to develop the following:

  • Discipline and accountability
  • Boosted self-confidence
  • Improved focus and concentration

If you want to prepare your young athlete for life and sports, team up with visionary partners who understand that this is bigger than ball.

Developing Discipline & Accountability

Athletes need discipline and accountability in order to succeed in any sport. There are many facets to this, from showing up to practice on time to knowing the importance of proper nutrition and rest. With regular basketball practice and dedicated coaching, athletes will learn the importance of establishing these habits and sticking with them for long-term success. This will not only help them become better players; it will teach them important life lessons that they can carry with them outside of sports as well.

Boosting Self-Confidence

Through regular basketball practice and performance review, athletes build the confidence necessary to remain focused during games no matter what challenges come their way. As they continue to hone their skills within a supportive environment, players learn how to stay positive even when faced with difficult situations or opponents. This helps them develop resilience both on and off the court while also improving their self-confidence in all areas of life.

Improving Focus & Concentration

Regular basketball practice helps athletes develop focus and concentration which leads to improved decision-making capabilities both on and off the court. As athletes perfect their techniques through hours of practice sessions each week, they become more adept at recognizing patterns during gameplay which allows them to make quick decisions when needed without losing sight of their ultimate goal—to win! This skill translates into other areas beyond sports as well, such as schoolwork or job performance.
